Wyoming State Penitentiary Visiting Information:

The Wyoming department of correction encourages friends and family members of inmates who demonstrate a positive influence to communicate and visit with an inmate. This can help in the rehabilitation process, and eventually with his or her reintegration back into society. Below are important forms and other things you should know if you are planning on visiting an inmate incarcerated in the Wyoming Department of Corrections.

You will need to provide identification when you visit an inmate, read the visiting room protocol here prior to visiting.Visiting Hours are as follows:
From 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Morning Check-in Time
Check-in time is between 7:30 - 8:00 am

Afternoon Check-in Time
Check-in time is between 12:30 - 1:00 pm


No time limit unless space availability is limited.

    does a baby need a birth certificate or can i use his social to visit?

      Hi Kayla,

      I would bring a birth certificate for visitation. It is always better to be prepared as much as possible for prison visits in order to avoid any last minute difficulties.

        But hes not a year old yet, and i dont have his birth certification thats why i was wondering if you could just use a social sense hes so young still we were going to go tomorrow so i needed to know if that was okay..without he has only been held by his father 2 times its really sad and i hope pray that we can visit tomorrow

          Hi Kayla,

          Hopefully,it will not be a problem. Some prisons are more difficult than other prisons. Bring the social security card for identification,if requested.
