Hi Annette, Please note the following information about visitation at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center: It is the policy of Elayn Hunt Correctional Center to provide offenders the opportunity to visit with all persons on their approved visitor’s list. The number of visitors an offender may receive and the length of visits may be limited to institution’s schedule, space, personnel constraints, or when there are substantial reasons to justify such limitations. If the offender’s stay at ARDC (Intake process) exceeds thirty days, it will be possible for the offender to request and receive special visits pending Administration approval. How do you deal with paralyzed inmates. My son, Christopher John Bass, ADC #626031, needs his electric wheel chair and medical care.

Hi Ms. Callender,
The medical care at most prisons and jails is poor.We recommend contacting his case manager, and the health section at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. If you do not receive any help, then contact the warden’s office. Since your son is paralyzed, there is a danger of Decubitus ulcers–bed sores.

Other than 225-642-3306 is there a better number to actually speak to someone in person. No one is answering that number

Hi Detective Daryl,

I had the same problem, trying to reach the facility, after receiving your comment. I do not know, if this will help you, but maybe the Deputy Secretary’s office can help you, with contacting this facility.
