Lexington County Jail & Detention Ctr Visiting Information:

If you wish to visit an inmate, you must be prepared to present proper student, state or government photo identification (including children) at the time of your visit.

Citizens now can schedule visits with all inmates at the Detention Center by visiting https://securustech.net/. You can choose to visit on-site at the Detention Center or schedule a visit from the convenience of your own home, using the video visitation system.

Please be aware that an inmate can refuse to see any visitor. In some housing locations, the inmate can schedule a visit, and the inmate then is responsible for informing visitors about the scheduled time for the visit.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time for your visit in order to be registered in a timely manner! If you arrive at the exact time of your visit, please be prepared to wait as there are limited visitation spaces and processing requires time. Only two adults will be allowed to visit an inmate at one time, and children under the age of 12 are not allowed to visit. Any child who is between the ages of 12 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult and must remain under the adult’s supervision at all times. Children who are age 11 and younger can visit with an inmate from their home, using the video visitation system.

Visitors must wear proper attire that conforms to reasonable standards. Short shorts, short skirts, bathing suits and tank tops or excessively tight or revealing clothing is considered to be inappropriate attire. Shoes and shirts are required. The Visitation Officer has the authority to deny a visit with an inmate if the visitor is wearing inappropriate attire. Smoking is not permitted inside the Detention Center and visitation area. In addition, food, beverages and cell phones are not permitted in the visitation area.

Visitors can be denied visitation privileges for any of the following reasons:

The visitor is not on the inmate’s approved visitation list.
The visitor violates Detention Center rules.
The visitor exhibits disruptive conduct or behavior.
The visitor is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
There is insufficient space for visitation.
Visitation would place the visitor’s health at risk.
The visit would pose a reasonable threat to the safety or security of other inmates, employees or the community.
Former inmates must wait six months after their release from the Detention Center in order to be eligible to visit another inmate who currently is being housed at the facility.
Inmates who currently are on disciplinary confinement status are only permitted remote visitation on Wednesdays and Fridays, between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Inmate Worker Visitation
Visits with inmate workers are scheduled by the visitor either at the Detention Center at the visitation kiosks or online at https://securustech.net/.
